Sean Higgins' philosophy

As a designer and marketer, I believe in the philosophy of creating reactions.  For example, I don’t simply design a restaurant menu.  Instead, I create a reaction through my design.  I don’t simply market a restaurant’s grand opening.  I create a reaction through my marketing. When my target audience reacts, my work is serving its purpose.

I learned about this philosophy from my biggest influence, Jon Taffer, hospitality consultant and host of the TV series Bar Rescue.  I can't take credit for creating  this philosophy, but truly believe in this idea because anyone can apply it to his or her everyday actions.  It could be as simple as engaging conversations with your peers or even cleaning your house.  When you invite guests over and they react to how spotless your home is, you are creating a reaction.  For a more in depth understanding on this philosophy, click here to read my blog.

Sean Higgins' achievements


I have received multiple international design awards.  Each competition included over 1,000 entries from more than 30 countries.  I am certified in Hootsuite Academy’s Social Marketing program.  This demonstrates my ability to create a social media strategy along with sharing effective content and social media ads.  As a board member of the Art Director's Club of Tulsa, I directed our annual awards event and increased ticket sales compared to the previous two years.

I graduated Oklahoma State University with a degree in graphic design.

Sean Higgins' experience


My first design-related job was designing artwork for my college newspaper. This was my introduction to strict deadlines as I had to complete two column illustrations per week. After graduation, I began my career as the Marketing Director for a chain of convenience stores and multiple restaurants. With no previous experience as a Marketing Director, or directing numerous restaurants for
that matter, I saw this as an opportunity to learn as I went.

I currently reside in Tulsa, OK as the Graphic Designer / Social Media Manager for Legendary Q Brands, the parent company of Billy Sims BBQ and Billy Sims Burger. The marketing team and I work collaboratively as we create impactful campaigns for new menu items, Billy Sims live appearances, and grand openings. I am also a freelance designer in my off-time.

Sean Higgins' interests


Besides design and marketing, I have a passion in helping others.  I've played the role of a Big in the Big Brothers / Big Sisters program and am a current board member for the Art Directors Club of Tulsa.  I love learning new information and watching documentaries.  I’m hungry for knowledge and make a daily effort to grow everyday.  Other interests include exploring different restaurants and bars along with fitness, golf, videogames and jamming out to heavy metal music.
